Australasian Soccer Academy Sets Off for Southeast Asia Tour

In an exciting initiative to elevate the skills and exposure of our young talent, the Australasian Soccer Academy is gearing up for a competitive tour across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The academy, renowned for its comprehensive full-time training program, has selected a promising squad of players who will face off against some of the best under-21 teams in Southeast Asia.

The 23-man squad, meticulously chosen by the academy’s coaching staff, is comprised of dedicated athletes who train every day, honing their skills and preparing for the challenges ahead. Among them are four 15-year-olds, marking an ambitious step for the academy as they aim to provide valuable experience against seasoned opponents.

Tony Basha, the head of football at the academy, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tour. “I am happy with the team that will tour,” he said. “While we do have some inexperience in the squad, we are looking forward to testing ourselves against the best in Asia. Our national teams have faced challenges in this region over the past few years, and this tour is an opportunity for us to gain a competitive edge.”

The first leg of the tour will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, where the squad will face off against Bangkok United and Police Tero. Following their time in Thailand, the young athletes will head to Singapore to take on Albirex Niigata, a prominent Japanese club known for its strong performance in regional competitions.

Basha remains confident that this experience will not only challenge the players but also contribute significantly to their development as future soccer stars. “I am confident a few of our boys will go a long way in the game,” he added.

Fans and supporters will have the chance to follow the action as all matches will be streamed live on the Australasian Soccer Academy’s Facebook and Instagram pages. This tour promises to be an inspiring journey for the academy’s young talents as they aim to leave their mark on the international soccer stage.
