AT just six years old, schoolboy Ari Kum has been given an opportunity most boys his age could only dream of – a trial with Manchester City.

Ari will be living the dream when he travels to the UK next month to trial at the English Premier League powerhouse and other clubs in a bid to earn an academy contract.

Football clubs in Europe run football academies that have players as young as six.

The clubs work with the young players to develop them into professional footballers who could eventually play for their club.

Ari, who lives in Eastwood, has been training with Tony Basha’s Australasian Football Academy in Rydalmere and Greystanes.

The talented footballer was told of his opportunity to trial in December after Basha returned from overseas after visiting Manchester City, England League One side Bury, Spanish giant Real Madrid and iconic Italian club Juventus.
